Senior Accountant

Location: Brookfield Place, New York – 225 Liberty Street, Suite 4301.We are seeking a Senior Accountant for the Financial Reporting team, focusing on consolidation, analysis, and reporting of complex real‑estate financials across the Brookfield Properties portfolio. Responsibilities Consolidate, review and analyze information provided by subsidiaries for BPG and BPY financials, as well as internal management reporting on an IFRS and proportionate basis. Build and maintain relationships with key contacts, including BPG and BPY reporting teams, Funds accounting and FP&A teams, regional and sector finance leads, the Financial Systems team, and internal and external audit teams. Monitor the submission process for US core office regions: distribute and communicate financial‑reporting templates and timelines; track submissions; follow up as necessary. Assist in preparing analysis for quarterly results submissions for BPY listed reporting. Prepare journal entries related to consolidated adjustments, ensuring they are complete and accurate. Assist with the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax and compliance on a quarterly and ad‑hoc basis. Identify and implement changes to financial statements or disclosure requirements for BPG and BPY reporting. Respond to requests from external auditors for consolidated US office submissions or standalone financial statement requests. Provide support to senior management on routine and special projects. Continuously challenge current consolidation processes to strengthen controls, drive automation, and simplify subsidiary reporting requirements. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with a strong GPA. 2–3 years of related experience, preferably a mix of public and private accounting. Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS. Experience with OneStream strongly encouraged. Experience managing multiple entities with complex structures. Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills; ability to work with professionals throughout the organization. Ability to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines and ad‑hoc requests. Team‑player with a positive attitude and proactive approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe complex accounting concepts clearly and concisely. Strategic thinker able to improve existing processes or implement new solutions. Strong project management skills and a pragmatic, efficient approach to complex assignments.
