Senior Sec Reporting Accountant

Location: Manhattan, NY (4 days per week on-site) Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 Must have the following: SEC Reporting, 10-K / 10-Q, GAAP, Banking or CPA Firm Experience, General Ledger Reconciliations, Advanced Excel Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review sections of SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, and other regulatory reports
• Produce financial statements and MD&A support schedules
• Perform technical accounting research related to GAAP and regulatory guidance
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and complex accounting areas
• Perform general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations and proofs
• Coordinate with internal departments for disclosure and reporting requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and internal audit teams
• Support regulatory reporting to banking agencies including FHFA and other regulators
• Maintain SOX compliance documentation and internal control support
• Assist with internal reporting, investor relations support, and board reporting packages
• Build and maintain complex spreadsheets for financial reporting
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Support special projects assigned by Accounting leadership

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
• 3+ years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) OR 4+ years in banking financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel / spreadsheet modeling skills
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
• Ability to manage deadlines during close and SEC filing cycles
• Strong written skills with experience drafting accounting memos
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
