Description: Interview availability is required for this position. Please provide three available dates and times for an interview. Days are 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Shift hours are from 07:00 to 17:30 with weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call responsibilities. Minimum two years of pediatric scrub experience is required. Looking for strong skills in Eyes, Urology, Neuro, and Ortho. BLS AHA certification is required. Successful completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in the Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of program completion. Travelers will take call for various surgical specialties including general surgery and neurosurgery. Very high acuity cases will be encountered. The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room before surgery. Promoting patient safety during surgery is essential. Assisting the surgeon and caring for instruments and supplies used in surgery is part of the role. The incumbent must possess knowledge and skills to assist with patients of all age groups. Neonate and pediatric experience is a hard requirement. All candidates must demonstrate competency in the required pediatric skills. Travelers may be required to float as necessary. Floating is required based on unit and patient needs. Candidates must pass a telemetry exam prior to the start of the assignment. Candidates will have two attempts to pass the exam. Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of competence in assessing and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Additional attempts may require completion of a review course. Failure to meet the passing criteria may result in assignment cancellation. Candidates should be prepared for on-call responsibilities and high acuity environments.
