Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Landmark of Itaska (2). As a RN, you will provide direct nursing care to our residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Essential Job Functions: Directs the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility Ensures that all nursing personnel assigned to your shift comply with the written policies and procedures established by the facility Charts nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care Prepares and administers medications as ordered by the physician, and verifies the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment Ensures that rooms are ready for new admissions and participates in the orientation of new residents/family members to the facility Reviews care plans to ensure that appropriate care is being rendered and informs the Nurse Supervisor of any changes that need to be made Maintains a written record of the resident's complaints and/or grievances that indicates the action taken to resolve the complaint and the current status of the complaint Education/Experience: Must possess, as a minimum, a RN Degree Must have a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English Must have leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel Working Environment: Works in office areas as well as throughout the nursing service area (nurses' stations, resident rooms) Moves intermittently during working hours and is subject to frequent interruptions Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary Physical Requirements: Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position Must be able to see and hear (with or without aid) to ensure that the requirements of this position can fully be met Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace #J-18808-Ljbffr
