Job Description

The Repair Technician diagnoses, repairs, and tests a wide range of electronic and electromechanical dental industry products. This role focuses on troubleshooting electronic, electrical, and mechanical issues, performing precise repairs, and documenting all work in a clean, regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of electronic products used in the dental industry, including ultrasonic cleaners, LED curing lights, sterilizing ovens, high frequency electrosurgical devices, and dental scalers.

• Perform acceptance testing on products after repair to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications.

• Document findings, including detailed descriptions of issues discovered, repair actions taken, and test results.

• Work from schematics, blueprints, drawings, and written test procedures to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.

• Use electrical meters, oscilloscopes, high-voltage leak detection equipment, and other diagnostic devices to support troubleshooting activities.

• Carry out mechanical repair and assembly of equipment, including disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components.

• Conduct electronics, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment failures.

• Disassemble equipment to inspect components, identify defects, and determine appropriate repair or replacement actions.

• Troubleshoot, dismantle defective equipment, and install new and/or repaired parts to restore full functionality.

• Perform soldering and desoldering on printed circuit boards and other electronic assemblies as needed.

• Test circuits and components to ensure proper performance and adherence to technical specifications.

• Maintain accurate repair and test documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with electronic repair and troubleshooting of complex equipment.

• Strong electro-mechanical skills, including mechanical assembly and mechanical repair.

• Proficiency in electronics troubleshooting, including testing circuits and working with printed circuit boards.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical components and mechanical troubleshooting.

• Skill in using electrical meters, oscilloscopes, high-voltage leak detection equipment, and other test instruments.

• Capability to perform precise soldering and desoldering on electronic assemblies.

• Experience documenting equipment issues, repair steps, and test results clearly and accurately.

• Comfort working under regulated manufacturing standards and following detailed test procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in electronics, including fundamental knowledge of electronic components and circuits.

• Experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronics repair in a manufacturing or service environment.

• Ability to follow and apply detailed test procedures and quality standards.

• Familiarity with dental or medical equipment is beneficial but not required.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable repairs.

• Effective problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members when needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37246.00 - $47840.00/yr.
