School Aide

Classroom Aide /School-Based Caregiver

Location: San Diego County

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Start Date: August 2026

Are you passionate about working with children and making a difference in the classroom? We are seeking compassionate, dependable Classroom Aides to support students in school settings throughout San Diego County.

This is a flexible opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for a meaningful role with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and supervision for students

• Assist children with daily activities and educational tasks

• Support students with behavioral and developmental needs

• Assist with toileting and diapering as needed ( required )

• Help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment

• Follow school and district policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience caring for or working with children

• Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting and diapering

• Ability to work 1–5 days per week

• Must be available for a rotating weekly schedule

• Reliable transportation to school sites within San Diego County

• Must possess or be willing to obtain:

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• TB Test/Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children with special needs or developmental disabilities

• Background in childcare, education, daycare, behavioral support, or related fields

The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
