The Peer Specialist role exists to provide individual peer support to clients experiencing mental health and/or substance use conditions by using lived experience to promote recovery, offer advocacy, and deliver trauma-informed support. The position contributes to an interdisciplinary team by providing insight, guidance, and support that helps individuals navigate their recovery, build coping skills, and achieve personal goals. The program will provide supportive services to help enhance the residents lives, while maintaining stable mental health. DailyPay – Access Your Earned Wages Before Payday Career Advancement Opportunities Make a Difference Every Day Support Individuals and Families Strengthen Communities What You’ll Do As a PEER SPECIALIST, you will: Provide peer support to individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions Use lived experience to support individuals in their recovery journey Assist clients with developing coping skills and wellness strategies Support individuals in achieving personal goals (housing, employment, community integration) Assist in developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings Provide advocacy and support for individuals receiving services Assist clients in preparing for recovery plan meetings and expressing their needs Provide education to team members on recovery-oriented care and peer support principles Engage clients through outreach and ongoing support Provide crisis intervention services as scheduled Assist in completing assessments and wellness plans --- Who We’re Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Dependable Team-Oriented Service-Focused Professional Positive Committed to Helping Others --- Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED preferred CPR and First Aid certification Experience working with underserved populations preferred Experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record --- Schedule --- Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Some jobs pay the bills.
