Java Backend Developer (GCP Cloud & Data)

Salary: $49,500 - 69,500 per year Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including cloud data warehousing, distributed data processing, and cloud storage services.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and containerization and orchestration.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one additional data engineering language, such as Python or Scala.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and version control.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred: Google Cloud certification, such as Professional Cloud Developer or Professional Data Engineer.
- Preferred: Experience with workflow orchestration tools for scheduling data pipelines.
- Preferred: Familiarity with messaging and streaming systems for event-driven architectures.
- Preferred: Exposure to gRPC and event-driven architecture patterns.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Deploy and manage applications on GCP compute services, including container orchestration, serverless, or managed app hosting platforms.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and cloud-native data architectures for analytics and business use cases.
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and improve CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application and pipeline performance.
- Work with relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native data warehousing services as needed.
- Apply design patterns and software architecture principles to build robust, efficient systems.
- Work across backend application development and cloud-native data engineering with business, analytics, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.
