This role is ideal for a senior industry professional who thrives at the intersection of industry expertise, digital transformation, and consultative business development.Role CharterDrive business‑outcome‑led transformation strategy and pipelineShape pipeline and large deals through industry consulting and advisoryBuild differentiated utility‑specific offerings and GTM playsKey ResponsibilitiesUtility Industry Domain LeadershipServe as the senior Utility SME across Electric, Gas, Water, and Integrated UtilitiesOwn deep expertise across the utility value stream:Generation (including renewables)Transmission & Distribution (grid modernization, DER, AMI)Asset and outage managementField workforce, safety, and complianceCustomer operations, billing, and retail energySustainability, decarbonization, and regulatory mandatesProvide a strong industry point of view on trends such as grid resiliency, AI‑driven asset intelligence, outage prediction, DER orchestration, and ESG reportingOutcome‑Centric Transformation StrategyLead C‑suite‑level strategy conversations with CEOs, COOs, CIOs, CDOs, Chief Grid and Sustainability OfficersTranslate utility business challenges into:Digital and AI transformation visionsIndustry‑specific use cases (including GenAI and Agentic AI)Business outcome frameworks and value roadmapsDefine measurable outcomes and success metrics, including:Reliability and resiliency improvementO&M and cost optimizationAsset life extensionCustomer experience improvementSustainability and regulatory outcomesSales & Client Executive AlignmentPartner with Sales and Client Executives to:Shape and qualify utility opportunitiesDrive executive workshops, visioning sessions, and roadmap discussionsProvide industry credibility in pursuits and deal defensesOwn executive‑level storytelling, value narratives, and POVs for proposals and steering conversationsAct as a trusted industry advisor and deal shaper, influencing scope, outcomes, and investment decisionsUtility Offerings & GTM OwnershipDefine and evolve utility‑specific digital, data, and AI offerings, avoiding generic or “boil‑the‑ocean” programsBuild modular, outcome‑focused offerings such as:AI‑led asset health and outage intelligenceGrid intelligence and DER orchestrationField workforce productivity and safety insightsSustainability, ESG, and regulatory intelligenceUtility demand forecasting and energy optimizationPartner with ecosystem and hyperscaler alliances to create differentiated utility solutionsDrive utility GTM strategy, pipeline growth, and market positioningThought Leadership & Market PresenceAct as a recognized utility industry leader externallyContribute to:Executive POVs and industry whitepapersClient roundtables and industry forumsAnalyst and ecosystem partner discussionsBuild long‑term C‑suite relationships with strategic utility clientsExperience & QualificationsRequired15+ years of experience in the Utility industryDeep expertise in utility operations, grid, assets, or customer domainsProven experience in industry consulting, advisory, or transformation strategy rolesTrack record of engaging directly with C‑suite and senior utility executivesStrong ability to bridge business, technology, and regulatory considerationsPreferredPrior experience as an Industry Consulting Partner, Practice Lead, or Utility Strategy LeaderExposure to AI, analytics, grid modernization, or sustainability initiativesStrong executive communication and workshop facilitation skillsSuccess MeasuresUtility pipeline growth and deal influenceAdoption of utility‑specific offeringsStrategic relevance with Sales and Client ExecutivesMeasurable client outcomes defined and realized through transformation programs Why NTT DATAAt NTT DATA, you’ll work with industry leaders, cutting-edge technologies, and global clients to shape the future of Energy & Utilities.
