Staff Accountant

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing company located in the Chicago Loop. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, fixed assets, and full-cycle accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of accounting experience and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP system. Details: Role: Staff Accountant Position Type: Direct Hire Location: Loop Responsibilities: Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations Manage and track fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations Support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare account reconciliations Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred; experience with comparable ERP systems will be considered Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures Experience with fixed asset accounting preferred Exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
