Legal Assistant Paralegal

Join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Assistant - Paralegal, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in supporting our attorneys and enhancing our clients' experiences. You will be at the forefront of various legal matters, including estate planning, Last Wills & Testaments, and family law, matrimonial and real estate - ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. General secretarial skill is a plus. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be essential as you manage case files, conduct legal research, and assist in drafting documents. Experience in answering and directing phone calls is necessary. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your legal experience while contributing to meaningful legal work.

*Responsibilities*

* Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting thorough legal research using tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis.
* Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date within document management systems such as iManage.
* Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence while maintaining high standards of proofreading and transcription.
* Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for cases in areas such as personal injury law, workers' compensation law, and landlord-tenant law.
* Support project management initiatives by coordinating schedules, deadlines, and communications among team members.
* Facilitate the filing of documents with courts and other agencies while adhering to all relevant regulations including UCC law and tribal law & regulations.
* Maintain effective phone etiquette when communicating with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases.
* Provide executive administrative support to attorneys by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and preparing materials for meetings.

*Experience*

* Proven paralegal experience in a law office setting with a strong understanding of litigation processes.
* Familiarity with various areas of law including environmental law, securities law, patent law, and family law is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in legal case management software such as PCLaw along with strong data entry skills.
* Excellent writing skills demonstrated through previous legal drafting or document review tasks.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
* Clerical experience that includes filing and document management within a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
