The department managers are primarily responsible for the daily retail operations of their assigned departments. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide legendary customer service in their department
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure service of our customer as well as maximum turn and profit
• Pricing
• Merchandising and display
• Place necessary merchandise orders
• Oversee receiving, pricing, and bin tagging of department merchandise
• Handle department-related customer complaints as needed; courteously, timely and discreetly
• Oversee special departmental orders
• Training of assigned store personnel
• Knowledge of overall store policies, procedures and goals and how his/her assigned department affects and is affected by them
• Ability to motivate and lead assigned staff
• Knowledge of management responsibilities and ability to serve as back-up for General Manager or Assistant Store Manager, filling in for same as needed
• Attend and participate in store meetings
• Other tasks and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, or owners
• Greet and assist customers on the sales floor
• Resolve customer claims and complaints in a manner that is timely, courteous and discreet
• Set a positive example by following company procedures
• Ensure that departmental sales staff are ready for all promotions
• Resolve any IT issues
