Controller- Part Time- Greater Boston Area

THE MISSION

The MISSION for this role is to take responsibility for the financials of a growing agency and perform necessary financial duties of the business while building capacity, processes and systems for growth. To serve as a financial advisor to the President, Leadership and Ownership for Ember, LLC (the event agency) and the startup event venue Ember Escapes, LLC. Financial Management & Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity Perform all bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations Oversee and manage the financial close process Cash Flow & Financial Planning Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts Monitor liquidity and overall financial health Provide recommendations to ownership on financial decisions Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight Oversee AP/AR processes with partnership of external Bookeeping (PEAK) Establish controls and approval workflows Drive collections strategy and monitor AR exposure Payroll Oversight Review and validate payroll with PEAK (external bookkeeping) Ensure proper job costing allocation and compliance Maintain payroll accuracy and reporting Compliance & Financial Controls Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements Oversee prevailing wage financial compliance Maintain internal controls to reduce risk and errors Internal partner to project team members Nimble in support to project producers through project process including reconcilliation Build and lead training of team to improve risk management and financial precision Evaluate and optimize systems to improve efficiency External Relationships Manage relationships with CPA, Bookeeping firm, banks, and payroll firm Provide financial documentation for audits and financing Ember Compensation 25 hours/week with room to grow Remote position - 1x month in Newburyport, MA office / 3 in‑person company events per year Salary range depends on experience and proven performance in roles $45,000 + Company Performance Bonus Pool Must have Quick Books Online and Accounting experience Benefits Annual Salary 1 week PTO, increasing after 2 years 401(k) Health and Dental Life Insurance Company profit share based on performance Remote Work Travel Stipend Professional Development Stipend #J-18808-Ljbffr Ember
