You will be responsible for ensuring that your team delivers business objectives through providing excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management. About us HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales as well as the related unified tribunals across the United Kingdom. About your role The role of a manager is at the heart of HMCTS operations, shaped by the Civil Service Line Management Standards. It’s rewarding, challenging, and essential to our success. You will be based in Ipswich Magistrates Court or Norwich Magistrates Court. As an effective Team Leader, you will provide outstanding service to all our users, delivering on your area of work against local, regional and national priorities. You will recognise the importance of the team’s overall wellbeing and be able to motivate them to succeed; creating a sense of purpose, recognising successes and managing performance to deliver results and achieve business outcomes. You will be able to develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including the judiciary. Strong organisational skills to prioritise, plan, allocate and manage work to deliver outstanding service. Excellent communication skills. Able to establish and maintain trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Able to manage difficult and challenging situations and resolve problems swiftly and professionally. Confident in analysing data to make informed decisions to improve and maintain performance. Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy. We have 1 role available 1 × Fixed Term Contract, up to 12 months based at either Norwich Magistrates Court or Ipswich Magistrates Court – Applications for part‑time working would be considered; however the minimum days required per week is 3 full days. Regular travel to either Norwich or Ipswich Magistrates will be required for cover when needed. Saturday Working You will be required to work the following shift pattern, to include Saturdays as follows: 2 Saturdays per month that will be agreed in line with business need on a rota basis. Occasional travel to other courts For this post, regular travel to either Norwich Magistrates or Ipswich Magistrates will be required for cover when needed. Working arrangements and travel The MoJ offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non‑contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60 % of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Benefits Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service. We offer a scheme to allow qualifying staff to buy or sell up to three days of leave each year. Additional paid time off for public holidays and a privilege day. Leave for part‑time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro‑rated basis.
