Application Developer Manager

Overview This Management position resides within the Terminals Systems application team at Kinder Morgan. The Manager will lead application development and project management activities that support Bulk and Liquid Terminal facilities. Responsibilities include independent decision‑making on work assignments, personnel training, budgeting, and forecasting for IT resources and software across terminal systems. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on timely response to user requests and compliance with corporate goals and policies. What You Will Do Leverage staff appropriately and contribute to staff development. Ensure compliance with published policies and procedures for Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance. Manage project schedules, capital AFEs, and a staff of up to 12 individuals. Analyze performance metrics, risks, and controls. Facilitate group presentations and deliver proposals that meet end‑user needs. Develop employee skills, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and oversee resolution of employee‑relations issues. Consult with business management and IT management to prioritize projects for business and technical needs. Assign, coordinate, and review staff work; ensure projects complete on time, track progress, and report to upper management. Maintain efficiency, quality, and timeliness of software delivered for supported business areas. Establish and administer overall company policies and team goals/objectives. Analyze IT operations and recommend process improvements. Work with 3rd‑party service and staffing providers as appropriate. Participate in special projects or task forces as opportunities arise. Work closely with customers to define requirements and design, develop, and implement business application systems. Initiate and support improvement plans for employees to achieve departmental goals. Demonstrate a high regard for personal safety and the safety of company assets and the public. Develop close working relationships, accessing and responding to clients. What You Need Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent professional experience. Over five years of experience leading resources in software development or business management. Work experience in analyzing performance metrics, risks, and controls. Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Knowledge with Microsoft Reporting Solutions. Ability to interpret data and present business conclusions orally and in writing. Overtime and extended work hours may be required during emergencies. Minimal travel (less than 10%) with willingness to travel when needed. Work primarily in an office environment.
