The group provides services for all phases of a project's life cycle, from planning through decommissioning including detailed design, construction, and operation. Stantec was recently ranked as the number 7 Marine and Port Facilities engineering firm by ENR.Your OpportunityStantec is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Ports & Marine Structures to grow the team in the US South. As the Senior Project Manager, Ports & Marine Structures team, you will leverage your experience to grow the overall practice and manage the design and delivery of projects. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our client and project base and in efforts to position the firm to acquire new business in the US South market.In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the PMT team of planners, engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.Your role as a senior contributor on our professional consulting services team is to work independently on projects of high complexity, and as a leader of a team or project through all phases of a project lifecycle. You are responsible for developing and implementing an engineering discipline group equipped with up-to-date engineering and design tools and innovations, technical and supervisory capabilities, and operating procedures to successfully and efficiently execute projects and consulting services resulting in client satisfaction and on-time delivery.Your Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for marine structures and other port related projects of varying complexity.Leads the development of proposals for port development projectsDevelops project work plans and ensures execution through oversight and management of the project team. Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all structural engineered systems or products for a project.Engages in the development of a design through analysis, design, drawings, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.Prepares and revises documentation through various project phases including site plans, sections, diagrams, and details.Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors. Serves as a primary point of contact with project owner/client.Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and cost estimating.Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documentsParticipates in constructability reviews.Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.Prepares project reports and feasibility studies.Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.Manages project schedules, budgets and client engagement.Oversees and manages multiple projects.Your Capabilities and CredentialsRequisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable port and marine terminals standards and guidelines.Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.Strong knowledge of marine structural systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.Experience with STAAD software for structural modelingChecks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.Participates and collaborates in project team setting and engages in creative and critical thoughtThorough understanding of structural engineering and port engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.Strong written and verbal skills for interaction with project team, owners and clients.Strong project management skills including oversight of project teams' budget and schedule performance.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Professional Engineering license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.15+ years of progressive ports & marine civil and structural engineering and project management experience.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
