The Site Safety Coordinator will partner with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, and executive leadership to ensure compliance with VMG policies, OSHA regulations, and construction-industry best practices.The ideal candidate is a bilingual safety professional who is comfortable engaging with field teams, identifying potential hazards, delivering training, and taking prompt action to protect employees and strengthen our safety culture.What You'll DoJobsite Safety & CompliancePromote and enforce VMG safety policies and procedures across active construction sitesConduct routine safety inspections, audits, and job-hazard assessmentsIdentify unsafe conditions and behaviors and recommend appropriate corrective actionsFollow up with field leadership to ensure safety concerns are addressed promptlyMonitor compliance with OSHA standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulationsSupport jobsite emergency-response planning and other safety initiativesIncident Prevention & InvestigationInvestigate workplace incidents, injuries, accidents, and near missesDocument findings and identify contributing factors and root causesRecommend preventive and corrective measures to reduce future riskTrack corrective actions through completionRecognize safety trends and communicate areas requiring additional attentionTraining & Safety CommunicationConduct new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing field trainingCommunicate safety expectations clearly to English- and Spanish-speaking employeesPartner with project managers, superintendents, and field leadership to reinforce accountabilityCoach employees on safe work practices and proper proceduresHelp build a proactive, team-oriented safety culture across VMG projectsDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate inspection reports, incident records, training documentation, and compliance filesTrack safety observations, corrective actions, and follow-up activitiesPrepare and communicate safety updates to project and company leadershipEnsure required records are complete, organized, and readily availableWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 1 year of construction safety experience, preferably in commercial mechanical constructionBilingual fluency in English and Spanish requiredCurrent OSHA 30 certification requiredCPR and First Aid certifications preferredStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practicesExcellent communication, coaching, leadership, and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with project and field teamsAbility to travel regularly to active project sites throughout the DMV areaWhy Join VMG?At VMG, safety is a core value.
