Senior Product Manager - Operations Modernization

About this role:We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to support an Agile team delivering essential lending operations and servicing functionality as part of a broader modernization program. The role will help break down complex capabilities into executable increments while supporting the transition from fragmented legacy processes to more modular, scalable, and service-based solutions.The successful candidate will execute product priorities established with the Product Manager, keep the Scrum team supplied with clear and prioritized work, and provide timely requirement clarification throughout delivery. The Product Owner will make day-to-day decisions within the agreed product direction and promptly escalate decisions that affect roadmap priorities, funding, risk acceptance, architecture, or other teams. This role requires strong organization, practical product ownership discipline, sound judgment, collaboration, and accountability for moving functionality from discovery through production and value validation.In this role, you will:Partner with the Product Manager to understand product direction, priorities, intended outcomes, customer needs, risk requirements, and technology standards, and translate them into executable work for the Scrum team.Own and maintain the Scrum team's backlog, ensuring work is prioritized, refined, dependency-aware, and ready for upcoming sprints or increments.Translate business, operational, customer, risk, and technical needs into clear, complete, and testable features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting product requirements, using AI-assisted analysis and drafting where appropriate to improve quality, traceability, and delivery readiness.Provide timely requirement clarification and make day-to-day scope, sequencing, and tradeoff decisions that keep developers and testers moving.Work closely with engineering, architecture, design, data, operations, risk, compliance, and control partners to address feasibility, integration, data, control, and delivery considerations.Drive discovery by documenting current processes, pain points, controls, business rules, data needs, integration requirements, and future-state opportunities, using AI and generative AI tools where appropriate to synthesize inputs and identify patterns or dependencies.Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily team collaboration, sprint reviews, retrospectives, product reviews, and quarterly or increment planning, ensuring the team understands priorities, requirements, and expected outcomes.Translating roadmap priorities into sequenced team-level features and delivery plans, and communicate milestones, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs.Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define cases, expected outcomes, success measures, and business value before work enters delivery.Use operational, customer, performance, and financial data, supported by AI-assisted analysis where appropriate, to identify opportunities, test assumptions, support prioritization, and validate delivered value.Review completed functionality against acceptance criteria, provide timely feedback, and accept or reject work on behalf of the product team.Identify and evaluate practical opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual work, improve straight-through processing, and enable digital fulfillment through automation, responsible AI, intelligent workflow, and human-in-the-loop solutions.Track feature progress, dependencies, delivery risks, and blockers; coordinate needed follow-up and escalate decisions or barriers promptly.Coordinate testing, business validation, release readiness, implementation, operational readiness, adoption, and post-launch measurement for delivered functionality.Partner with risk, compliance, security, accessibility, model governance, and data governance stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities, meet applicable policy, regulatory, privacy, security, accessibility, and risk management requirements.Support capability migration and legacy retirement activities, including coexistence needs, data retention, read-only access, implementation dependencies, and operational handoffs.Build effective working relationships across the Scrum team and partner groups, communicate status and decisions clearly, and help resolve moderately complex delivery issues.Promote consistent backlog, documentation, testing, and product delivery practices within the team.Required Qualifications:4+ years of Product Management experience, product development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:2+ years' experience working within Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.2+ years' experience creating and managing product backlogs, user stories, and business requirements.Experience using artificial intelligence, generative AI, or intelligent automation tools to support problem solving, accelerate discovery and analysis, improve decision-making, and identify opportunities to enhance products, processes, and customer or employee experiences.Experience supporting products, platforms, or business and technology modernization initiatives within an Agile delivery team.Experience creating and managing team backlogs, features, user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.Experience applying Agile delivery practices such as Scrum, Kanban, or scaled Agile methods within a cross-functional team.Demonstrated ability to translate complex operational and technical concepts into clear product requirements and measurable business outcomes.Experience supporting process discovery, workflow analysis, future-state design, or capability assessment.Experience partnering with product, operations, engineering, architecture, data, risk, compliance, and control teams to deliver functionality.Experience with servicing operations, financial services, regulated industries, case management, workflow platforms, or enterprise technology modernization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data to prioritize work, assess tradeoffs, and measure value.Ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, and risks within a Scrum team and escalate issues appropriately.Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.Experience using Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar product and Agile delivery tools.Familiarity with application programming interfaces, modular services, cloud platforms, automation, intelligent workflow, data integration, or modern software delivery practices.Product Owner or Agile certification such as Certified Scrum Product Owner or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager.Job Expectations:Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.This position offers a hybrid work schedule.Adherence to in-office attendance expectations.This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Posting End Date: 26 Sep 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
