The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading the resort's overall commercial function across Group and Transient Sales, Revenue Management, and Marketing/PR. As the resort's commercial leader, the primary focus of the role is driving revenue performance through effective strategies and execution, while leading marketing campaigns and promotions that support revenue goals and ensuring Sales, Revenue Management, and Marketing remain aligned to achieve established revenue, market share, and overall business objectives.

HOW YOU'LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Align Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to support the resort's overall commercial strategy and revenue goals.
• Elevate the existing sales team by providing the structure, mentorship, and support needed to succeed and aggressively grow Group Sales.
• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for room sales, group bookings, and other hotel services.
• Apply strategic thinking and experience from large resorts with 20,000+ square feet of meeting space to effectively navigate the complexities of the resort.
• Apply strong Revenue Management acumen to train and develop the sales team on group stay patterns, ROGR, group ceilings, and the impact of transient demand on overall strategy.
• Partner with and leverage the HM Alpha marketing team to develop campaigns and promotions that support the resort's overarching sales goals.
• Lead, motivate, train, and mentor the sales and marketing team, set clear goals, monitor performance, and foster a culture of high performance.
• Manage key client relationships, including corporate, group, and leisure accounts.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
• Negotiate and close business with high-profile clients and agencies.
• Develop and implement the hotel's marketing plan in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Oversee all marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, print advertising, promotions, and public relations efforts.
• Manage the hotel's online presence, including the website, social media, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
• Ensure branding and messaging are consistent across all channels and platforms.
• Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget.
• Analyze sales data, track progress toward revenue goals, and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Forecast future business levels and adjust sales strategies as needed.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, establish developmental goals, and provide guidance and support for career growth.
• Ensure the team maintains a strong understanding of the hotel's offerings and competitive landscape.
• Collaborate closely with hotel departments, including Operations, Revenue Management, and Catering, to align sales efforts with overall business needs.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to represent the hotel and expand its market presence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience; 5-7 years of progressive sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry, including demonstrated leadership and revenue generation.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Strong understanding of the hotel industry, sales techniques, and marketing trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in using marketing tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
