Senior Project Accountant

About the Role The Senior Project Accountant will manage the full financial lifecycle of engineering projects while partnering closely with Project Managers, business leaders and senior management. Responsibilities Manage end‑to‑end project accounting from setup through closeout Establish and maintain project codes, budgets and cost centers Review time charges, expenses, billing rates and contract terms Prepare accurate project invoices and support collections Analyze and reconcile WIP and project revenue Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts Perform revenue recognition and profitability analysis Process and reconcile subconsultant invoices Prepare project‑financial, variance and profitability reports Identify financial risks, trends and opportunities Provide financial guidance to Project Managers and senior leadership Support project budgeting and forecasting Participate in month‑end and year‑end close Support internal and external audits Maintain contracts, COIs and supporting project documentation Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and accounting standards Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Five or more years of project‑accounting experience Engineering, architecture, construction or professional‑services experience Strong understanding of project accounting, revenue recognition and cost control Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical and financial‑reporting abilities Excellent communication, organization and time‑management skills Experience partnering directly with Project Managers Familiarity with financial compliance and audit requirements Deltek or Unanet experience preferred Medical, dental and vision insurance Vacation and sick leave 401(k) with up to 4% employer match Potential stock ownership Short‑and long‑term disability Additional voluntary life insurance Training and professional‑development programs #J-18808-Ljbffr HireIQ
