The role involves providing direct patient care in a team-based nursing model. Nurses will work alongside a virtual nurse and a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Patient ratios for bedside RNs and CNAs will be 1:6 during shifts. The unit will care for patients with surgical and medical diagnoses. Common surgical cases include colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, and others. Medical patients may present with conditions like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The RN will be responsible for the administration of medications, treatments, and education. They will also coordinate care among interdisciplinary teams. Weekend coverage may be required more frequently than every other weekend based on staffing needs. Time off requests will be assessed on an individual basis. The facility is a teaching hospital with advanced resources for patient care. All applicants must commit to working at least three of five holidays throughout the contract. Clear communication and collaboration will be essential for successful patient outcomes. The health care environment necessitates adherence to safety and procedural protocols. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced setting are crucial for this role. Candidates must be willing to float between units as required.
