The nurse will work night shifts in a collaborative team environment. Patient ratios are typically 1 RN to 6 patients. This position includes a staffing model with a bedside RN, a virtual RN, and a CNA for each patient. Responsibilities include managing complex surgical and medical diagnoses. The unit cares for various surgical patients, including colorectal, urological, gynecological, and vascular cases. Medical patients include those with cancer diagnoses, lung and heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorders. The nurse is expected to assist with patient admissions, discharges, and education. Interdisciplinary support is available through various healthcare professionals.
