Military Writer for AI Model Training

Role Overview

Apply military and federal writing expertise to help train next-generation AI systems using authentic, standards-aligned reports, summaries, and operational updates. Your work will help models learn to produce effective, compliant government communication. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic military and federal status reports, summaries, and executive updates from prompts and supplied materials.
• Develop high-quality reference responses for AI training.
• Create grading rubrics and assessment guidelines based on federal and military writing best practices.
• Evaluate AI-generated reports and provide detailed written and verbal feedback.
• Explain stylistic differences and approaches for documents such as Weekly Activity Reports, Situation Reports, After-Action Reviews, and executive summaries.
• Prepare supporting materials, including decision briefs, memoranda, and action officer updates, as needed.
• Collaborate remotely with subject matter experts to support varied reporting styles and branch-specific terminology.

Qualifications

• Former U.S. Department of Defense professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience creating templated or standardized reports, including Weekly Activity Reports, Situation Reports, After-Action Reviews, or similar documents.
• Knowledge of military writing, federal documentation standards, Department of Defense procedures, and compliance best practices.
• Experience generating, reviewing, and evaluating reports, as well as developing grading rubrics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical or operational subject matter.
• Ability to create, grade, and review back-office documents, presentations, memoranda, and spreadsheets for military or federal use.
• Experience across two or more U.S. military branches is preferred, and broad experience across roles is valued.

Work Terms

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Open to contributors based in the United States only.
• Comfort with collaborative remote work and nuanced, procedural reporting assignments is required.

Compensation

$40 to $80 per hour.
