Description

American Traveler is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist for an evening-shift hospital OR covering a broad range of surgical specialties.

Details

• Hospital general OR setting supporting 12 service lines
• Evening shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Call required, averaging 6 shifts per 8-week block including weekends and holidays
• Candidates will be required to float as needed
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• CST certification required (NBSTSA) unless candidate worked as a tech in NY prior to 2015; license required if applicable
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience preferred, with 4 years required for Bariatrics, Vascular, Thoracic, Ortho, and Neuro specialties
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Experience across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neuro, urology, thoracic, ENT, podiatry, and robotics
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and robotic-assisted surgeries preferred
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, sharps safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures
• Experience with decontamination and sterilization processes
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred

• Supports a wide variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general, vascular, gynecologic, orthopedic, neuro, urologic, thoracic, ENT, podiatric, and robotic cases
• Participates in instrument and sharps safety protocols, specimen handling, and time-out procedures
• Works within a high-acuity surgical environment with exposure to complex and specialized cases
• Does not accept local candidates; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before being eligible for rehire
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered for this assignment
