BHT- Behavioral Health Technician- 1 weekend day required each week

Description Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and support services to clients receiving outpatient behavioral health treatment at CASS. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the BHT is responsible for implementing individualized service plans, supporting clients through evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, and ensuring compliance with all program and regulatory standards. The BHT works as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve client outcomes and promote recovery, stability, and whole-person wellness. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Deliver direct behavioral health services, including skill-building, psychoeducation, group facilitation, and supportive case management, consistent with treatment plans. Document all services and client interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a timely and accurate manner. Support clients in navigating systems of care, including primary health, housing, social services, and peer supports. Assist with assessments, treatment planning, and coordination of care as directed by licensed or supervisory staff. Ensure client safety and well-being by following established crisis intervention protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and other payer standards. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision sessions as scheduled. Uphold professional boundaries and ethical standards, including HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Provide support to Whole Health initiatives, including collection of SDOH data and coordination with community resources. Collaborate effectively with internal staff, external providers, and community partners to ensure continuity of care. Perform other duties as assigned. Needed Competencies and Proficiencies Meets BHT criteria per CASS Policy. Knowledge of behavioral health interventions, treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations. Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation requirements. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations. Commitment to continuous learning, training, and professional development. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Work Environment This position primarily operates within an office setting but will frequently include community-based work. The role requires frequent interaction with clients experiencing homelessness and co-occurring conditions. Standard office equipment is routinely used. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds unassisted. The employee must be able to self-transfer and move throughout the facilities, between buildings, and around campus at multiple sites. Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze reports and data. Visual acuity and physical ability to operate a motor vehicle. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Work hours are generally daytime, with flexibility for evenings/weekends based on client needs and program operations. Days and hours of work include time allotted for breaks/lunch. Requirements Required: An equivalent combination of education and experience meeting CASS Program Policies and Procedure standards for BHT; Healthy knowledge of healthcare systems and local healthcare resources; Valid AZ Driver License and a driving record that meets agency standards. Must have reliable transportation. Proof of insurance is required; State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one; Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook; highly accurate data entry skills; CPR-First Aid certification within 90 days of employment; Naloxone (Narcan) training within 90 days of employment; CPI certification within 90 days of hire. Preferred Experience working with unhoused and other vulnerable populations Master’s Degree: verifiable, unlicensed Medical or behavioral case management experience including treatment and discharge planning; familiarity with counseling modalities Motivational Interviewing skills or certification #J-18808-Ljbffr CENTRAL ARIZONA SHELTER SERVICES INC
