As a Detention Security Officer - Unarmed in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal in a government location as an unarmed patrol officer, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations with strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state. Bring an agile, reliable, and innovative approach while working with a caring team that leads with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions within a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related observations and activities according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor movement through designated areas, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and suspicious behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Support daily operations by following post orders, communicating with site contacts and/or first responders when needed, and maintaining a professional presence in a structured, high-accountability environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
