As a Youth Facility Security Officer - Entry Control in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer at a government location, where you will monitor access points, verify badges, and support daily operations through professional presence, routine patrols, and clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor and help control access at assigned entry and exit points by verifying identification, screening visitors, processing credentials, and maintaining visitor logs in accordance with site protocols.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
• Support security-related operations by observing cameras, alarms, doors, and other access control systems, and reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify access control concerns, unauthorized entry attempts, and other security-related issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
