This role is ideal for someone who enjoys independent work, managing complex reconciliations, and supporting a high-impact organization that serves communities across multiple properties.If you thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and enjoy variety in your month-to-month responsibilities, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to meaningful work.Responsibilities for the Staff AccountantReconciliations & General Accounting (Primary Focus)Complete bank reconciliations for 200+ accounts across multiple entitiesPerform A/R reconciliations for 30 HUD-funded housing propertiesTrack tenant portions using multiple billing systemsManage and reconcile high-volume intercompany accountsAccounts Payable (1 Day/Week)Serve as AP backup, including cutting checks for 30 companiesMonth-End & Audit SupportPrepare journal entries for approximately 30 entitiesAssist with month-end close proceduresSupport both internal and HUD audit preparationWork in a paperless system using AcumaticaQualifications for the Staff AccountantMust-Haves:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting1–3 years of accounting experienceStrong Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUPs; many templates already built)Ability to work independently and handle high-volume, multi-entity workflowsNice-to-Haves:Nonprofit experienceExposure to HUD, affordable housing, or property management accountingExperience with Acumatica or similar ERP systemsPrevious audit prep experienceWhy You’ll Love This RoleWork in a mostly remote environmentJoin a supportive team with strong leadershipOpportunity to gain experience across multiple entities and HUD-funded propertiesMeaningful work that contributes directly to community stabilityGrow your skills in a high-volume, fast-paced accounting environment
