SEO/SEM Marketing Manager

SEO/SEM Marketing Manager – DX1, a division of Dominion Enterprises. Located in Norfolk, Virginia, this role leads a small SEO/SEM team and drives measurable search‑marketing results for a large portfolio of powersports dealership websites across the United States. Description DX1 is a cloud‑based dealership management system for the motorsports industry. We build and maintain customer‑facing websites for dealers selling motorcycles, ATVs, side‑by‑sides, snowmobiles, scooters, power equipment and more. Position Summary DX1 seeks an experienced SEO/SEM Manager to lead our search marketing team, balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on execution. The manager will oversee a high‑volume client portfolio while cultivating scalable processes that drive consistent results. Responsibilities Lead, mentor and develop a team of up to three SEO/SEM specialists. Manage search marketing strategies for a large portfolio of dealership websites while maintaining high‑quality service standards. Develop scalable SEO and paid search programs that can be efficiently implemented across hundreds of clients. Prioritize work based on business impact, client needs and team capacity. Establish processes, documentation and quality standards that improve efficiency and consistency. Conduct technical SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve site health, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals and organic performance. Oversee keyword research, on‑page optimization, local SEO, content recommendations, link building strategies and competitive analysis. Manage Google Ads campaigns, including budgeting, bidding strategies, audience targeting, ad copy testing and conversion optimisation. Monitor campaign performance and communicate results through meaningful reporting and actionable recommendations. Collaborate closely with Product Development, Customer Success, Account Management and Website Builders to implement SEO best practices within our website platform. Stay current on Google algorithm updates, paid search trends, AI search developments and emerging digital marketing technologies. Continuously identify opportunities to automate repetitive work using technology, templates, AI and workflow improvements. Required Qualifications 5+ years of SEO and SEM experience with proven results. 2+ years managing or mentoring marketing professionals. Experience managing multiple client accounts in an agency or high‑volume SaaS environment. Strong understanding of technical SEO, local SEO, content strategy and paid search. Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Google Ads, SEMrush, PageSpeed Insights, ScreamingFrogSEO Spider and RavenTools (or similar reporting platforms). Experience implementing conversion tracking, event tagging and attribution. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business recommendations. Excellent project management, prioritisation and organisational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while managing competing priorities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with automotive, powersports, RV, marine or other dealer‑based industries. Experience supporting SaaS products or website platforms. Familiarity with local SEO for multi‑location businesses. Experience with schema markup, XML sitemaps, robots.txt and JavaScript SEO. Knowledge of AI‑assisted marketing workflows and automation tools. Compensation factors include geography, experience, education, job demands and market conditions.
