Sr. Operational Buyer

Are you an experienced supply chain professional ready to drive procurement execution in a high-growth manufacturing environment? We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Senior Operational Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing execution, supplier coordination, and material readiness to keep production running seamlessly in San Jose, CA.

In this fully onsite, long-term contract role, you will manage purchase orders via Oracle MRP, review BOMs, track shortages, and collaborate cross-functionally across logistics, quality, and finance. You will monitor supplier delivery performance, review engineering change notices, drive process automation, and support cost-reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of procurement operations experience, proficiency with Oracle ERP and Agile PLM, and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure assigned materials, components, equipment, and services to support production schedules, inventory targets, cost objectives, and quality requirements.

• Review Oracle MRP signals and manage purchase orders, releases, pull-ins, pushouts, cancellations, and expedites as required.

• Maintain accurate purchase order dates, quantities, acknowledgements, and supplier commitments to support material readiness and planning visibility.

• Track shortages, late deliveries, and excess inventory; communicate risks early and drive recovery actions to minimize production impact.

• Partner with planning, manufacturing, logistics, quality, finance, receiving, commodity management, and suppliers to resolve purchasing, shipment, receiving, invoice, and payment issues.

• Monitor supplier delivery performance, responsiveness, open order status, and corrective action follow-up.

• Review Engineering Change Notices, part releases, and planning changes to keep purchase orders and supplier communications aligned.

• Identify, evaluate, and support sourcing from new suppliers to improve capacity, cost, quality, and business continuity.

• Apply automation, standardization, and process improvement experience to improve purchasing workflows, reporting, trackers, and recurring buyer reviews.

• Support special projects, supplier transitions, cost-reduction initiatives, and operational improvement activities as assigned.
