Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

The incumbent is expected to work 40 hours per week throughout the year and may be required to work specified hours based on the business needs of the office. Occasional travel throughout the state is also expected, usually 3-4 times per year to meet with enforcement staff located throughout California.

Travel may be for one or several consecutive days. The incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and is expected to drive safely and adhere to all road laws.

The incumbent must exercise excellent interpersonal skills while utilizing sound judgment, discretion and exhibit a high degree of professionalism. The incumbent must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, independence, and accuracy in performing tasks as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while working cooperatively with others.

Special Requirements

Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.

·Successful experience working in an enforcement program, including compiling statistics, developing and analysis, maintaining case information, and entering data into a tracking or case management system with a high degree of accuracy.

·Strong customer service skills, including the ability to handle difficult or escalated calls, communicate clearly with the public and businesses, and apply effective deescalation techniques.

·Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to provide support to staff in other units, contributing to coordinated case management and smooth program operations.

Statement of Qualifications
