Lab Technician - Plant- 1st Shift

GENERAL PURPOSE

Work under the guidance of certified laboratory technicians and conduct analyses in accordance with approved methods and procedures to ensure analytical data meets the highest standards for accuracy and precision. This is a non-certified laboratory technician position. Advancement to the Sr. Laboratory Technician requires license and/or certification.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist certified technicians in sample sorting and preparation Maintain analytical equipment according to manufacturers’ recommendations and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP’s) Perform all sample sorting and scanning functions, routing all samples to the appropriate location In coordination with administrative staff, maintain an adequate inventory of consumable supplies necessary to perform analysis assigned Continuously maintain work areas in safe, clean, and sanitary condition Make recommendations for continuous improvement Comply with laboratory hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal plan Provide necessary data for routine reports to customers and regulatory agencies as required The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent 0 to 1 year of lab, administrative, or related experience Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
