Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides skilled nursing care to mothers and newborns in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The nurse supports flexible scheduling and floating between related units, emphasizing strong caregiving and clinical expertise with a minimum of three years' experience.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Certifications:

Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery or related specialty.
Current nursing license valid in the state of practice (no pending licenses accepted).
Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP.
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills specific to Labor and Delivery.
Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
Ability to float between related units including Mother-Baby.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Precepting skills to support orientation of new staff and travelers.
Experience working in an acute care hospital with similar patient populations.
Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are preferred for local rate matching.

Special Considerations:

Weekend work is required depending on contract length.
No on-call requirement.
Must be flexible to float between like units including Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro.
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application.
Facility allows any scrub color.
Free parking available on-site.
Facility type: Acute Care Hospital with 356 staffed beds.
Guaranteed hours with potential for one call-off per two-week pay period.

Scheduling:

PM shift with strong caregiver support needed.
Block scheduling possible at manager's discretion.
Flexible scheduling including weekend shifts.
Immediate start date (ASAP).
