Job Description Job Description FIBER SPLICERS – ABILENE, TX (DATA CENTER) High‐Volume | Fast‐Paced | Immediate Need We’re hiring experienced Fiber Splicers to support large‐scale, mission‐critical data center builds in Abilene, TX . This is high‐count, high‐urgency work for technicians who can move fast, maintain quality, and consistently hit production targets. If you’re strong in ribbon splicing, comfortable in live data center environments, and take pride in output—we want you on this project. COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE Hourly Pay (Based on Experience): Tech I: $25.00 – $30.00/hr Tech II: $30.00 – $35.00/hr Tech III: $35.00 – $40.00/hr 12‐hour shifts | 5–7 days/week (60–80 hrs/week) Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours Per diem (for candidates outside a 100‐mile radius) Depending on the client, per diem may be paid directly or monetized into the hourly rate WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Perform high‐count fiber splicing in active data center environments Complete ribbon and spider ribbon splicing on accelerated timelines Prep and splice large cable counts as materials arrive onsite Meet or exceed daily production targets Install fiber and copper cabling independently Perform single‐fiber and ribbon terminations , including splicing and patching Read and interpret construction prints and fiber diagrams Install ladder rack, basket tray, J‐hooks, and related supports Complete grounding, bonding, testing, and labeling to data center standards Transition between job sites as project demands change SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 1+ year of fiber splicing experience (any environment considered) Data center or mission‐critical experience strongly preferred Ability to produce approximately 96–144 ribbon splices per day Proven experience with 8×64 or 69×13 fiber counts Hands‐on ribbon splicing experience (or closely related methods) Cable prep experience with 17/28, 8/64, 69/12, 34/56 Strong familiarity with data center fiber environments preferred WHY THIS PROJECT Long‐term data center work with consistent demand High splice volume = steady hours and stability Clear expectations and strong field support Ideal for splicers who want fast pace, consistent work, and real production impact
