Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Critical Care

Schedule: 12-hour Night Shifts; 1900-0730 x 3 shifts per week

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

• KS RN or Compact RN License
• BLS, ACLS certifications
• 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs
• Comfortable calling own consults and conducting own codes
• Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, maintaining accurate records of vital signs and medical history.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care processes.
• Participate in emergency response situations, adhering to protocols and ensuring patient safety.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation consists of 2 days at the main campus and additional training at the partner facility.
• Credentialing requirements include CBC, DS, and lab work to be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
• Facility is nicotine-free.
• Compliance with bi-weekly pay period policies.
• Cancellation policy allows for one shift per 2-week pay period with prior notice.
