Director of Marketing

Action Packaging is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead our marketing strategy and help drive measurable business growth. Reporting to the President, this role will oversee demand generation, digital marketing, brand strategy, sales enablement, customer communications, and marketing technology.

You’ll lead a growing team and work closely with sales and company leadership to turn marketing investments into qualified opportunities, stronger customer relationships, and revenue growth.

This role is hybrid out of Woodstock, Illinois.

Salary Range - $100,000-$135,000

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing plans aligned with company growth goals.
• Build demand generation campaigns that create qualified sales opportunities and support expansion into new markets.
• Lead website strategy, SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, and marketing automation.
• Partner with sales to develop presentations, proposals, case studies, and other customer-facing tools.
• Create programs that support customer retention, account growth, and supplier engagement.
• Oversee trade shows, events, brand messaging, and corporate communications.
• Strengthen CRM use, data quality, reporting, and marketing performance measurement.
• Manage the marketing budget, outside partners, and a team spanning digital marketing and creative services.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
• Experience developing and executing omnichannel marketing strategies that create consistent customer experience across digital, email, sales, events, and other channels.
• A track record of driving measurable revenue growth.
• Strong understanding of B2B sales and marketing processes.
• Experience with CRM platforms and marketing automation systems.
• Experience managing marketing teams and budgets.
• Strong communication, leadership, project management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel 10%-20%.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience in packaging distribution, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a related B2B industry.
• Experience supporting multiple locations or markets.
• Knowledge of NetSuite.
• Experience with supplier co-op marketing programs.
• Experience supporting acquisitions and brand transitions.
• Experience leading creative, digital marketing, and content teams.
