Senior Financial Analyst

Lead budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis activities for a facility, region, division, or system-wide team Complete routine, non-routine, and complex functions including operating budget, capital budget, strategic planning, patient accounts, and operations Prepare financial analyses, variance reports, and ad-hoc reports Develop quantitative reports with internal customers using data sources to analyze clinical and operational issues Serve as technical expert and resource on financial systems and processes Problem-solve and mentor other analysts Collect data from Intermountain Healthcare data sources Coordinate information gathering, process scheduling, and issue communication Analyze financial trends and economic and business forecasts of reporting outcomes and variances Create and maintain databases for collecting and tracking performance measurement data Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field preferred Degree obtained through an accredited institution; education is verified Demonstrated experience with budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities Demonstrated project management skills, high degree of accuracy, and sound decision-making with limited supervision Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Preferred: four years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis Preferred alternative: master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field with two years of experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes preferred Ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, equipment, and supplies Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy Frequent computer use for typing and accessing information For driving-required roles, ability to drive a vehicle and read signs and traffic signals Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning, with a strong ability to mentor and problem-solve within financial systems.
