Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centeredindividual for the position of Director of Donor Engagement . This is a full-time position based out of ourGeneva campus. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM withoccasional evenings and weekends for special events. The startingsalary for this position is $85,000- $95,000 based on qualificationsand experience. Who We Are: Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential,educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens andadults with serious and profound developmental disabilities andspecial healthcare needs. With two residential locations - theMarklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center inElgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund DaySchool offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children andyoung adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on theautism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program ateach site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside atMarklund and those who come in from the community. The Director of Donor Engagement will help driveorganizational sustainability by cultivating, stewarding, andretaining donors through personalized relationship management,strategic communication, and high-impact events. They developfundraising strategies, manage donor pipelines, manage and track donorretention and key data points, and collaborate with the developmentteam to enhance donor recognition and stewardship. Responsibilities include: Take a leadership role as a back up to the CDO. Help strengthen the LGC and Annual Fund programs at Marklund. Work with the Signature Events Director and Community EventsManager to employ individual giving and stewardship strategies forprevious event participants. Represent development to new and potential donors and otherMarklund stakeholders. Provide leadership and encourage ongoing research/ideas of newcampaigns and/or appeals in an effort to identify new potential funding. Develop and pursue fundraising ideas, contacts and strategies toraise funds from individuals, corporations and foundations in theChicago area. Experience and Skills Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT well as with Microsoft Office(particularly Excel and Word). Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to managemultiple projects and/or cultivation/stewardship plans. CFRE certification preferred. Ability to manage external relationships with donors, prospects,vendors, board members, and other professionals. 5 - 7 years experience in a senior fundraising position. Demonstrated success in cultivating and securing major gifts and grants. Direct experience with portfolio management Experience managing donor pipelines, stewardship plans andfundraising analytics Experience with post event strategy and cultivation Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multipleprojects simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donormessaging, proposals, and stewardship materials Ability to represent the disability and nonprofit field withcredibility and to communicate program impact clearly to donors andcommunity stakeholders We want to be a positive influence in your career path Whether you work at Marklund for 1 year, 5 years or 50 years, wewant to be a positive influence in your career path .
