Now Hiring Family Support Specialist WeekendsLocation Westland Michigan Schedule Schedule Weekends Only Fridays and Saturdays 11p 730a Pay 1900 per hour Support Families in Transition Lead with CompassionAre you someone who leads with empathy and thrives in a dynamic hands on environment Join Samaritas as a Family Support Specialist where no two days are the sameand every day makes a difference In this role youll provide direct support to families navigating challenging life situations From assisting with daily living needs to de escalating difficult moments youll be a steady compassionate presence for individuals working toward stability and independence Why Samaritas Samaritas is a Michigan based faith driven human services organization committed to empowering individuals and building stronger communities We meet people where they arewithout judgmentand walk alongside them toward a better future Join us and be the rock BeTheRock What You’ll Do Direct Care & Resident Support - Assist families with daily living activities based on individual service plans Support residents with hygiene meals and maintaining a safe clean living space Prepare rooms for new residents and help maintain a welcoming environment Monitoring & Safety - Observe and document resident behavior and daily activity Respond to and help de escape challenging situations Report incidents and concerns to leadership in a timely manner Medication & Documentation - Assist with medication administration in accordance with policies Maintain accurate documentation of services activities and observations Intake & Resource Support - Assist with intake processes including phone and walk in inquiries Connect individuals to community resources and support services Housekeeping & Facility Support - Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident rooms and shared spaces Support kitchen operations including meal prep and cleanup Team Support - Serve as a mentor to new staff and assist with onboarding and training Collaborate with team members to ensure quality care and program success What You Bring Training or coursework in Social Work Human Services or related field preferred At least 1 year of experience in direct care residential services or community based programs preferred Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment with professionalism and compassion Strong communication observation and problem solving skills Commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect Additional Requirements Must obtain and maintain Food Handlers Basic Certification Ability to work assigned afternoonevening shifts and weekend schedule Why This Role Matters Youll be a consistent source of support for individuals during times of uncertainty helping create stability safety and a sense of belonging when its needed most Make an Impact That MattersIf youre ready for meaningful hands on work where your compassion and flexibility shine wed love to connect directcare homeless socialwork casework residential humanservices westlandjobs #J-18808-Ljbffr Samaritas
