We are also the first hospital on Long Island to receive a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services for consistently high patient satisfaction scores./ppAll phases of Neurosurgery patient management including but not limited to:/pulliJoint commission accredited stroke center/liliWorking with Neurosurgeon/liliProvide clinically applicable evidence-based practice of the hospitalized patient inclusive of the pre, intra post-operative care period for the Neurosurgical patient population./liliMedical management of the Neurosurgery population in collaboration with other medical disciplines to ensure patient throughput across the CHS care continuum./liliPerform Neurosurgical Evaluations perform clinical responsibilities as delegated by the Service Line leadership./liliRender patient specific care including ordering, reviewing and interpreting laboratory radiologic studies./liliPerform approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patients clinical status./liliFormulate and implement a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or the intensivist./liliUtilize prescriptive privileges as allowed by NY licensure./liliAssess patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions./liliInitiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patient./liliParticipate in our Clinical Education and Science Simulation center for onboarding and strengthening of both didactic and procedural skill sets./liliComprehensive clinical documentation in the EMR in compliance with Neurosurgery coding initiatives./liliEducate patients, families care providers with disease processes implemented plan of care to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction./liliDischarge planning education including review of discharge instructions and medication prescribing in compliance with state federal regulations./liliCoordination patient care plans with Consulting Physicians and other clinical providers involved in the management of Neurosurgery patients./li/ulpEducation, Training Experience:/pulliPhysician Assistant must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. Physician Assistants must have current NCCPA certification./liliBachelors Degree required. NYS licensed with certification.
