Maintenance Technician

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician working on hydraulic press machines in a dynamic production environment. You will be tasked with maintaining and repairing equipment such as 3-phase motors, pumps, and both hydraulic and pneumatic presses. Your role will involve preventive maintenance, handling breakdowns, and working on relay logic systems while documenting activities on our computer system across two buildings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, communicate, and follow preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
• Utilize hand and power tools to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment and building systems.
• Perform emergency repairs on production equipment with efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Execute advanced repair tasks including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Provide complete instructions for custom fabrication and equipment modifications.
• Source parts and supplies from outside vendors with management approval.
• Prepare machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Assist in maintaining facility systems and utilities.
• Guide and mentor entry-level maintenance technicians.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in pneumatics, blueprint reading, industrial motors, and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot motors and perform preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with relay logic and PLC troubleshooting.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair.
• 3-5 years of experience in metals manufacturing maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Auto production experience is a plus.
• Proficient in advanced shop mathematics and accurate measurement recording.
• Expertise in diagnosing equipment malfunctions using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Mastery in using powered and non-powered hand tools safely.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and records.

Work Environment

Work in a hot, dirty, and loud manufacturing environment on the 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Be prepared to work with oil daily, and enjoy free slushies during the summer to stay refreshed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Hillside, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $72800.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
