Ability to meet physical demands (stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl) and lift up to 50 lbs
Description:
This role involves providing nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery setting.
Registered Nurses will assess patients' clinical conditions and recognize serious situations.
The ability to prioritize and take immediate action is essential, including informing physicians and implementing preplanned measures.
Nursing diagnoses must be formulated to provide appropriate care across various patient demographics including medical, surgical, psychiatric, and obstetrical patients.
A plan of care for individual patients will be developed through interviews with patients and family members, alongside a review of health records.
Discharge planning will be an integral part of the care plan and should reflect cultural, religious, physical, and psychosocial needs.
Immediate measures in emergency situations must be initiated when physicians are not available, including resuscitative measures in case of cardiac or respiratory arrest.
It is required to operate and monitor general and specialized emergency care equipment.
Therapeutic measures prescribed by the physician such as medications and IV therapy need to be administered carefully.
Teaching of preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures to patients and families is crucial, tailored to their learning needs and readiness.
Documentation of nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and patient status is essential for coordinated care.
Evaluation of progress toward outcome attainment must be conducted regularly, updating care plans as necessary.
Health care requirements for patients must be documented and assignments prepared for team members based on their skills.
Oversight of care administered by other nursing staff will be part of the responsibilities.
Technical guidance and direction to other nurses and unlicensed personnel will be provided.
Maintaining adequate supplies and general upkeep of the unit is expected.
Continuous knowledge and competency aligned with current nursing practices is required.
