Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a PA or compact license, BSN, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment in the Labor and Delivery unit
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm
• Patient ratio of 1-2
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend, including Friday/Saturday nights
• Holiday coverage required for at least 1 of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery required
• Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, and BLS required
• AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate certification required (Advanced preferred)
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required due to high acuity and fast-paced unit

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
• Perform fetal monitoring including EFM and IUPC placement
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and VBAC management
• Manage patients with complex conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differentiated rate
• First-time travelers not preferred due to unit acuity and pace
