PRN RN - ENT Plastics Stepdown/Internal Medicine

Unit Details Cleveland Clinic’s G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is an 8‑bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown unit and a 24‑bed internal medicine unit. Patients have a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis and complex multi‑system failure. Caregivers float to both sides, so you will have one foot in medicine and one foot in critical care. Position Details A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. PRN works a minimum of 64 hours every 6 weeks. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience. Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90‑day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval. Will consider military RN experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $41.00 Maximum hourly: $41.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
