Entry-Level Baker

Sweet Bean is a Taiwanese-American bakery and café specializing in freshly made breads, pastries, and desserts. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking entry-level baker to join our production team. Professional baking experience is not required—we are happy to train someone who is eager to learn and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, fillings, breads, pastries, and other bakery items according to Sweet Bean recipes
• Weigh and measure ingredients accurately
• Shape, fill, proof, bake, and finish products
• Follow daily production schedules and complete assigned tasks on time
• Maintain consistent quality, appearance, and portion sizes
• Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and organized
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures
• Assist with receiving ingredients, rotating inventory, and minimizing waste
• Work collaboratively with bakers, kitchen staff, and managers

Qualifications

• Baking experience preferred, not required; training will be provided
• Interest in baking and willingness to learn
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions
• Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on tasks
• Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Available for early-morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed
• Food Handler Certificate required or must be obtained after hiring
• Baking, restaurant, or food-production experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, and work around hot ovens and kitchen equipment
