Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

Veracyte seeks a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to lead the design and development of next-generation minimal residual disease tests. The role focuses on NGS-based oncology assay development, analytical validation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver clinically actionable diagnostics under CAP/CLIA quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to bioinformatics strategy for MRD assay design, optimization, and lifecycle management
- Design and execute analytical studies evaluating assay performance and limit of detection
- Develop, validate, and maintain scalable production bioinformatics pipelines for MRD analysis
- Lead benchmarking and optimization of computational methods including error modeling and longitudinal tracking
- Partner with molecular biology, QA/RA, clinical, and software engineering teams on assay alignment
Requirements
- Extensive experience with NGS-based oncology assays and assay development
- Deep expertise in circulating tumor DNA biology and cancer genomics
- Proven track record of analytical assay development under design control frameworks
- Strong knowledge of variant detection, error suppression, and computational method optimization
- Familiarity with regulatory standards including CAP/CLIA, FDA, and IVDR compliance
- Experience with production-ready bioinformatics pipeline development and validation
