Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

This position requires a dedicated Registered Nurse to work in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit. The staff nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

Shift Type: Nights
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Minimum of six weekend shifts during a six-week schedule
Holiday Requirement: Yes
Self-Scheduling: Available
Floating Requirements: May float within Zone 3 based on departmental needs

Unit Information

Unit Type: Telemetry
Number of Beds: 36
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
Nurse Aid Ratio: 1:5
Common Diagnoses: Congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
Experience Required: NIHSS certification preferred
Essential Skills: Ability to titrate drips including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control

Equipment and Technology

Respiratory Therapy Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and vents
Tele/Monitor Tech: RNs are required to interpret their own strips

Qualifications

Applicants must have at least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse and hold the following certifications:

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)

Additional Information

Orientation: Clinicians are expected to be in-state for the week of orientation
Dress Code: No specific scrub color; scrubs are not provided
