Accountant

Overview The Accounting Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks and reports to the controller. Responsibilities include project support, accounting tasks, administrative tasks, and supporting the overall function of the accounting department. Responsibilities Prepare monthly union reports and prepare for annual union audits Prepare certified payroll reports Process credit card billings Assist in CCIP tracking for subcontractors Assist accounting supervisor with special projects Maintain accurate records, including electronic and paper filing Support the overall accounting department and the other employees on the team Regular attendance at work is an essential job duty Other tasks as assigned Conform to company Quality, Environmental, and Safety policies, any environmental laws, regulations, standards, and other requirements such as permits to operate Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to interpret and apply basic accounting principles and comply with GAAP Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong Excel experience Ability to prioritize tasks when appropriate Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP software Education, Experience, and Training Education: No degree is required, however strong math, Excel and accounting skills are required. Experience: 2+ years of experience in a construction environment and payroll experience are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
