Department Manager - Newbury Street, Boston, MA Full-time About the Role As a Department Manager, you’ll lead and support your team, foster an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit, and ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for the store, customers, and colleagues. You’ll analyze your store’s strengths, opportunities, and competitors, follow up on sales, and create plans to optimize results and profits. A Day in the Life You are responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines Representing yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions Be aware of and take responsibility for your department\'s strengths and identifying commercial opportunities and acting on them Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team promotes and sells products to customers Follow up that your team actively promotes our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) & in-store sustainability initiatives Manage your department in a cost-efficient way Ensure correct routines in fitting rooms and at checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges Ensure all admin routines for both people and operations are handled correctly Fashion & Trend Awareness Stay up-to-date with fashion scene, trends, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions Team & Development Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, upskilling, and developing your team in-store Complete performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs Share knowledge with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team Provide and receive feedback to support development Manage team planning and scheduling Communicate regularly with store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire Ensure procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed Participate in onboarding and relevant training for your role Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house, including stockroom areas Ensure high fashion quality, visual and commercial product presentation, with good garment care Monitor stock levels and provide input on allocation Ensure the full garment cycle from delivery to presentation and fitting room routines aligns with internal standards Utilize tools and technology provided for in-store OMNI services and tech tools Maintain price signs in-store consistent with guidelines Update BOH areas with key information and safety/tidiness Responsible for opening and closing the store daily Who You Are Strong leader who takes responsibility for others Ambitious, an effective communicator, and analytical with numerical skills Achievement-oriented and customer-centric Compensation Compensation: expected base salary range is $28.88 - $33.21 hourly EEOC Code: SLS • Pay Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly Note: This job posting highlights the most critical responsibilities and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive.
