Senior Accounting Manager

For more information, please visit The Senior Manager of Accounting will report to the VP, Corporate Controller and will play a key role in managing the Company's monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting processes. This newly created role will have significant responsibility for complex accounting areas, external audit activities, financial reporting, system implementations and the development and maintenance of an effective internal control environment.The successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting Mentari's anticipated transition to a public company following its planned reverse merger in Q4 2026. The ideal candidate should be a highly organized and proactive individual with strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, prioritization skills and a focus on business partnership. The Senior Manager of Accounting will work across functions and teams at Mentari as a trusted partner to facilitate efficient communication to support the Company’s financial processes. The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment. Responsibilities: Lead complex and high-risk accounting areas within the close cycle to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, including clinical trial and CRO accruals, manufacturing costs and stock-based compensation Own and oversee significant sections of the monthly and quarterly close processes, including research and development, general and administrative and corporate accruals and reconciliations. Perform and review monthly close deliverables including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures and supporting schedules for the Company's SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reports, and support the preparation of earnings releases and other external financial reporting materials Support the Company's transition to public-company reporting following the anticipated Q4 2026 reverse merger, including the development and implementation of processes, controls and reporting requirements necessary to meet SEC filing and public-company reporting obligations Partner with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to implement the Company's procure-to-pay (P2P) and ERP systems, helping to define accounting and process requirements, support system configuration and testing, establish appropriate controls, and develop scalable processes to support the Company's growth and public-company reporting requirements. Serve as a liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit process. Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to support accounting initiatives and operational alignment. Partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to analyze financial performance and ensure consistency between reporting and forecasting. Drive the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance financial reporting processes and optimize the company’s financial systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred 7+ years of prior related accounting experience Previous experience in public accounting and/or accounting roles within a biotech, pharmaceutical or other life sciences company preferred, particularly within a small- to mid-sized or high-growth organization. Experience with research and development accounting, including clinical trial and CRO accruals, preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions and business activities. Experience with SEC reporting requirements and financial reporting for publicly traded companies. Experience developing, implementing and maintaining effective financial controls, accounting policies and procedures; strong knowledge of SOX requirements preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and balance attention to detail with an understanding of the broader business context. Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives concurrently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Location: Waltham, MA area (Hybrid) The anticipated base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $192,000. This role may also be eligible for a target annual bonus and equity-based compensation, as well as participation in the company’s benefit programs. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
